It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia (Seasons 1-4)
This show is what I like class genre-wise as a 'Wrong-com' because everything they do and say on the show is wrong and terrible beyond anything imaginable. Shows like 'South Park' and 'Family Guy' would probably also fall into this category because their humour is offensive to everyone at some point or another. As there's no point in analyzing each series by itself I decided to just through it into one big batch. The show follows four friends (and one of their dads as of the 2nd season) and they run a very unsuccessful bar in Philadelphia. 'The gang' as they are often referred to have no other friends and no other hobbies other than getting drunk on the very alcohol that is bought specifically for the bar. The show is very low budget so don't be expecting Grade A storylines and effects but it has managed to last four season, with a fifth coming in the next month or so, and it also has a cult following due its severe randomness with episodes about 'Greenman' or 'Dayman' which are both inventions of the glue sniffing character called Charlie. Basically this show is what we need to see more of if I'm quite honest. No more of this canned laughter crap (See 'Friends' and 'Two and a Half Men') because that stuff just isn't funny any more. They think that someone making a funny noise or a funny face on tv and then throwing in this canned laughter, which probably isn't anything but a bunch of trolleys colliding plus some fat guy choking on his hot dog, is funny. Comedy like 'Arrested Development' and 'Flight of the Conchords' should be regarded as revolutionary because they disregard the old way of "comedy" and have created their own type. And that's 'It's Always Sunny' falls into because he tests the extremes. So, if you are looking for a good comedy that gives you reason to watch tv then this show is something you should check out.
